This Daara was put in place by a Ndiegel (Divine Command) from Shaykh Bethio Thioune; by the blessings of Serigne Saliou Mbacke, our beloved Shaykh Bethio Thioune instructed the Mourides of Touba-Indianapolis to establish a Daara of Sant/Shukr (Thanks/Gratitude) to allow the misplaced Africans in America the opportunity to link back with the families of nations and receive the satisfaction of Allah. Daara of Sant Serigne Saliou of Touba-Indianapolis is a Mouride School of thanksgiving and gratitude that works for Serigne Saliou Mbacke through his beloved Shaykh Bethio Thioune. A Mouride is an aspirant toward Allah; so this is a school is for those that want to have learn about their duty towards their Lord and properly worship Him. This Daara utilizes the teachings of Shaykh Ahmad Bamba, the Privileged Servant of the Prophet (PBUH), that we call Khadim Rasoul.

This is in accordance with the Quranic verse which states,

"Exercise thanks, sons of David! But few of My servants are grateful" (34:13)

and the verse that states,

"Nay, but worship Allah, and be of those that give thanks" (39:66).


Our beloved Shaykh Bethio Thioune gave this Daara the name of Touba-Indianapolis, we are a Daara of Sant and Shukr to the Khalifa General of Allah on Earth (Serigne Saliou Mbacke) because of the importance of giving thanks and showing gratitude toward Allah. Shaykh Bethio Thioune is teaching us how to work for Allah by fulfilling the Ndiegels that are transmitted from the transcendence of Allah to the immanence of Allah here on the earth.

In this time period, Serigne Saliou Mbacke is the Most Perfect Manifestation of Allah on this earth whom the true Sufi would call the Qutb Zaman (Spiritual Pole of this Time Period), Ihsan Al-Kamil (Perfected Man) and/or the Universal Man. He is our Spiritual Guide (Wasila) that gives us access to the Divine Proximity of Allah through His Beloved Door, Shaykh Bethio Thioune.

Serigne Saliou Mbacke unites the One and the Many, so that the universe depends on him for its continued existence. Serigne Saliou bridges the chasm which the Quran and scholasticism have set between man and an absolutely transcendent God. As the Qutb Zaman, he brings relief to those in distress, health to those that are sick, children to those that are childless, food to those that are starving, spiritual guidance to those who entrust their souls to his care and invoke Allah in his name. He

The Qutb Zaman, reflects not only the powers of nature but also the divine powers as a microcosm of a higher order. He is the final cause of Creation; the means by which God sees Himself, for the Divine Names and Attributes can not be seen, as a whole, except in the Universal Man. In every age the Universal Man is the outward manifestation of the essence of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), which has the power to assume whatever form it wills.

So, we give thanks and show gratitude to Allah who has allowed us access to His Knowledge and His Hidden Treasure by establishing love in our hearts and allowing us to fulfill the Ndiegel of Serigne Saliou Mbacke through Shaykh Bethio Thioune, who will elevate us to our allotted station within the Divine Proximity.
